Little Smoke is a 4-piece band hailing from the small village of Sutton NSW. Their musical style is drawn from rock, blues, and folk influences.
Formed in late 2001 from the ashes of Canberra band "Space Is Dead", Little Smoke have developed a sound that redefines genre boundaries. Song writing inspiration is drawn from a variety of sources, including an emphasis on local environmental issues. Little Smoke have organised music festivals in support of wood chipping protests and continue to promote awareness of environmental issues in their shows. Little Smokes live performance is high energy and entertaining. The bands folk roots show through in their shows, with songs that audiences can relate to.
The band plays regularly in live music venues throughout NSW and has supported interstate and international touring bands as well as performing recently at the Falls Festival in Lorne, Victoria and the Mortlake Buskers Festival (also in Victoria).
Little Smoke are currently recording an LP length CD and are booking an extensive East Coast tour during 2002 in support of its release. Plans for a late 2002 tour of NZ are also underway. In the meantime, Little Smoke continues to further develop their sound and live performance.
